Service Sunday: September 5, 2020

Dear FBC Family -

As you’re aware it’s been an extraordinary few days for the greater Mullica Hill Area.

Since Thursday, our church has organized work teams comprised of our own church family and the community to serve the people on Jackson Road. We have been chainsawing downed trees and dragging tree limbs to the side of the road. Our efforts have been able to make a significant impact in many ways.

We are going to continue these efforts with two additional properties on Jackson Road in place of our Sunday morning worship service tomorrow. We have been trying to serve these two homes, but because of utility company work our first opportunity will be Sunday morning.

Here’s the plan:

  • Meet in the auditorium at 9:30 am. The worship service will start as normal in the auditorium at 9:30 am. We will have a brief time together, and then we split everyone into two work and prayer teams.

  • If you can work, come prepared to work. Be prepared to work for 2-3 hours (or potentially longer if needed). Wear work clothes (long sleeve shirts, pants, and shoes), bring work gloves, and if you have one, bring a chainsaw, fuel, and a wheelbarrow. You will walk to the worksite which is about a 10-minute walk from the church down Jackson Road.

  • We need people who will pray. If you can’t work, come prepared to pray for our community and the impact it has had on hundreds of lives. Though we have only been able to touch the lives of 10-12 households, the impact has been tremendous. And we are looking to continue to be a part help teams for the affected families in the months to come.

Thank you for your willingness and participation. It’s not what any of us expected to be doing on Labor Day weekend, but this is the Lord’s plan for us now, and we’re thankful we’ve been able to use it thus far to glorify His name.

Sincerely,

The Elders of Fellowship Bible Church
