Serving in a church is one of the most important elements of our Christian walk.

Paul uses the analogy of the human body to help us understand our role in the church. As each part of the body is important and has an important role, each person in our church body is important and has an important role. When our body is working together, we are able to accomplish much through the Holy Spirit’s power.

The Bible speaks about the importance of each believer using his or her ‘spiritual gift’ to see this work in the church accomplished. Sadly, many believers don’t know what their spiritual gift is. Here is a list that may prove helpful. Look at each gift and ask yourself this question: “In what ways I have seen the Lord use one or more of these gifts in my life to effective further His work?” That may be a good indicator of what your spiritual gift is.
