About Giving

The Bible has a word for giving—the word is grace. Grace is best understood as a gift that is given and undeserved. In our work and wage-based society we don’t often think of our money that way –given and undeserved. But the Bible makes it clear, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights” (James 1:17).

Grace-giving is perfectly represented through the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. The apostle John wrote, “By this we know love, that He laid down his life for us” (1 John 3:16). It would be our greatest desire that you would first receive the gift of Jesus freely, before you would consider giving yourself.

For those who are believers in Jesus the Bible speaks of us as stewards – not owners. That simply means that we are managing what the Lord has graciously given to us for His kingdom and His glory.

Finally, God challenges us to maintain an eternal perspective on our finances, not a temporal one. The Bible says, “. . . for the things that are seen are temporal, but the things that are unseen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18). God desires for us to invest in opportunities that bear eternal reward, not those that temporarily satisfy our earthly pleasures. We highly recommend Randy Alcorn’s little book, The Treasure Principle for additional study of this truth.

It is our privilege to receive your financial gifts, and it is our pledge to be good stewards of your gifts – taking great care in how we manage and track the resources entrusted to us.
