Atlantic City
Rescue Mission: Sat. January 9
Interested in going to serve for 1/2 day at the mission on Sat., Jan. 9?
The group will leave the church at 8:45 am sharp! Contact Jack Morocco
609-221-9068 or sign up at the Missions Table in the foyer (near the drinking

Blood Drive
Jan. 22 from 1 —7 pm
Please
consider donating blood, you could possibly save as many as three lives with one
donation. Sixteen year olds may now
donate with parents consent. Sign up for an appointment at the Communications
Table in the foyer and see Fran Hoffman if you have any questions or would like
to volunteer to help.
Please Pick Up Your Christmas
Cards:
Please remember to check the Christmas Card boxes
in the foyer carefully
one more time
to see if you have cards.
Even if you do not send any
cards, please check the box since you most likely will have received cards from
others. We trust you will be
encouraged by interacting with the FBC family in this seasonal expression of
care!

Scripture Memory for the Week
“So God
created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27)
Today’s
Services:
Pastor Phil Moser will begin a series that will be the theme of his
messages throughout 2010 that will take us through the Bible chronologically.
The message this morning is “The Story of Redemption: Part 1” from Genesis 3:
1-24. We will also participate in
communion during the morning worship service. Join us at 6 pm for our weekly
Prayer Gathering.
New Disciple to
Maturity Classes Begin this Week:
See the enclosed insert for a description of six new classes that will
begin this Wednesday, Jan. 6 at 7 pm.
Please note that the membership class is offered for the first four weeks
of the quarter and we plan to repeat these membership classes the first four
weeks of each quarter.
New Offering
Envelopes:
New offering envelopes are available for you to pick up in the foyer across
from the Missions Table. As a
reminder, due to IRS regulations that affect most taxpayers, cash donations
cannot be deducted for Federal Income Tax purposes unless they are properly
receipted by the charity. Therefore, for those of you who itemize your tax
deductions, it is even more important to use the numbered envelopes in order for
the church to provide you with a receipt at the end of the year. The
church will provide a year-end receipt (by the end of January 2010) for all
gifts received either via numbered envelopes or with the donor’s name and
address. Any cash donations received without a numbered envelope and
without a name and address cannot be properly receipted by the church, affecting
the tax-deductibility of your gift. If you are not using offering envelopes but
would like to do so, please indicate your name, address & phone on a weekly
attendance card and mark the back “pew envelopes.” Call Denise in the church
office 478-9559 if you have any questions.
Possible
Cancellation of Services because of Weather:
If services
are canceled we will post a cancellation notice on the church web site (www.aboutfbc.org)
as soon as possible. Or you may call
the church office at 856-478-9559.
If we are closed, there will be a message on the
recording.

John and Mandy
Leone are happy to announce the birth of a daughter, Eva Noelle Leone, born on
December 23 weighing 6 lbs. 15 oz. and is 19 1/4” long. Eva has the following
siblings: Johnny, Olivia, and
Natalie.
Small Group Ministry Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a "host house" for our small group Bible study to
meet in bi-weekly (every other Thursday evening). At present approx. 15-20
adults w/5 children (supervision provided). Ideal locations would range along
the Rt. 45 & Kings Hwy. corridor from West Deptford to Mullica Hill however
somewhat flexible. Great opportunity for someone desiring to minister as well
as be ministered to! If interested please contact Paul & Kimberly Griffiths at
(856) 224-0547 to discuss further.
Substitute
Teachers & Helpers for Sunday School Program:
If you enjoy working with children or teenagers but can't
commit every week consider being a substitute teacher or helper for our Sunday
school program. You might be called to fill-in
a few times a year. If interested please contact the office or Kimberly
Bracciante, Sunday School Supt. at 478-6011.
Helpers Needed
for MOPPETS Childcare
As MOPS here at FBC starts up its new semester, the childcare portion of
this ministry, MOPPETS, would like to appeal once more to the congregation as we are in need of additional helpers.
No teaching will be required.
Our specific request is for committed individuals who would be willing to help
in
the infant or wee-walker room, to assist the older children in making
provided
crafts, or who might be flexible enough to aid where the need is greatest.
Meetings are held the first and third Thursday of each month from 9:15am
to 11:15am. We invite you to prayerfully consider being used in this ministry as
we seek to reach children, both churched and unchurched, with the knowledge of
Christ. For all inquiries or
commitments please contact Anna Perray at 223-9709 or
cocibokin@yahoo.com.
Items Dropped Off at the Church:
Often there are items left on the coat racks, in the hallways, kitchen, or
gym that seem to be just left there and we don’t know who it belongs to or who
left it; and then we don’t know what to do with it! May we ask if you must leave
something for someone else to pick up,
please label it
with the name of
who it is supposed to go to
and
the name of who
left it,
if possible. Anyone donating
clothing to the church is asked to
please call the church office first.
While donations are appreciated, notifying the office would ensure that we
would have a place for the donated items and would also ensure that they are put
away. Thank you!
Christ Life Ministries Men’s
Retreat/Prayer Advance:
All men (& boys 12 & up) are invited to attend the retreat scheduled for
Jan. 28-30, 2010. See the flyer on the FYI
bulletin board for details or contact Carmen Mininno 848-1516 or Dave Rue
589-8152. It would make a great gift
for the man in your life!
Deacon’s
Benevolence Fund Offering:
Our Deacons take up an offering on the first Sunday of each month to help
assist those in our church family, and occasionally in the community, who have
financial needs. This church has given graciously over the years to help meet
these needs and it is greatly appreciated.
If you are aware of someone who might need assistance please communicate
that need to our Deacons in one of the following ways:
1.) approach one of the men (generally Elders and Deacons) who are
collecting the Deacon’s Offering, 2.)
give the office a call during the week 856-478-9559, 3.)
check the indicator box for “Deacon’s Fund Assistance” on the back of the
weekly attendance card found in the pew. Make sure
to include your contact information.
Gluten Free Communion Elements
For those in the congregation who have a gluten intolerance, we will begin
providing a gluten free tray of Lord’s Supper elements, that will be available
at the Usher’s closet on
Communion Sundays (normally the first Sunday of the month). Please see
Gerry Northorp, our Head Usher, for
assistance. If there is anything further, please contact one of the
Deaconesses or the church office so that we can try to accommodate your needs.
