Seeds:  Evangelism Training

This class will be using a special DVD teaching presentation titled, “Seeds”.  It is designed to help any believer become more comfortable and confident in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.  This will be an interactive study that addresses roots of evangelism, as well as the real-life challenge of being a personal witness.  After 13 weeks of study, prayer, and active class participation, you will be more equipped to share the gospel clearly and simply.

Advanced Counseling/Discipleship Training

Teacher:  Pastor Joe Schenke

Location:  202 14 weeks

This course is designed to help the student apply the principles of biblical counseling that they have learned in the NANC Counseling and Discipleship training conference. The focus is intended to help the student learn practical skills in counseling through observation, evaluation, critique, and discussion with the purpose of helping the student build a practical and effective counseling model. The students are involved in observing different counseling techniques from actual counseling sessions recorded on DVDs.  Students will also work through counseling cases from the Christian Counselor’s Casebook.

The main purpose of this course is to help men and women develop their counseling/discipleship skills to the next level whereby they would be become involved in the various aspects of biblical lay counseling ministry. It is also our desire that we would be able to generate further interest in NANC certification.

This course will have requirements and is not meant to be a class that one can merely attend once/week.  Class participation on the part of students will be expected and there will be homework assignments required in preparation for each week’s class.

Prerequisite: Attendance at the NANC Counseling and Discipleship Training Conference. If you were unable to attend the conference the last two years but have a serious interest in this course, please contact Pastor Joe.

major  problems  to Christians in  this century.  Can we really
understand what happened? What does the Bible say?   What do scientists say?   What about intelligent design? This study will reinforce  our trust in God Himself and in His infallible Word.

Shepherding a Child’s Heart

Shepherding a Child's Heart is about how to speak to the heart of your child. This DVD series taught by Dr. Tedd Tripp presents perspectives and procedures for shepherding your child's heart into the paths of life. The goal of parenting is to shepherd a child’s heart rather than just correct a child’s behavior. This goal is based on the principle in Luke 6 (the heart as the control center of life). The core principle is helping our child to understand that his/her wrong behavior is a result of a straying heart. Reach the heart and the behavior will change. This course is for parents with children of any age. Each DVD lesson is approximately 30 minutes long and will be followed by class discussion and interaction with the material.

How to Instruct from the Bible

Location:  Pastor Phil’s Office 14 weeks

This class is intended to introduce you to the different ways you may communicate God’s truth, with individuals, in small groups, or in larger settings. Specific focus will be given to the various ways and styles Jesus taught others, so that we might follow His example. This promises to be a very helpful class for those who wish to better their teaching skills, as well as those who desire to teach, but are in need of some encouragement to get started.
